Shipping is a terrible thing to do to vegetables. They probably get jet-lagged, just like people. ~Elizabeth Berry

2010 Vegetable/Herb Garden Update - Early April photos

It has been a long while since I updated my blog on the status of the garden.  As of today, everything is in.  I’ll have to take some pictures of the raised beds themselves.  Sad to say, we have a casualty after the 2010 growing season.  The southeast bed frame cracked apart.  Where it will last this season (fingers crossed), it won’t make it beyond this year.

Shown below are pictures from early April.  These were taken in my basement where my grow light tower resides.  Even though it was cold outside, the plants were getting 13 hours of light and a constant temperature in the house.

More parsley

This year, parsley was the winner when it comes to plants that took well to the soil medium, moisture content, lighting and temperature.  Where everything did surprisingly well, the parsley plants grew the biggest the fastest and required re-potting early on.
