Hot sauce? No way! Quintessential Condiment I say

I know, I know, you’re getting tired of me whining about Gourmet Magazine.

No more.  Im an instant lover of Bon Appetit.  What did they name ingredient of the year? None other than myfavorite condiment, Sriracha Sauce.  Long before it went to the mainstream sitting on tables at fast meal establishments like Noodles & Company, this sauce was introduced to me in a more behind the scenes, underground way.  My friend Neha introduced it to me many, many years ago.  I couldn’t even tell you if this was something in her home or at a restaurant.  One try and I was hooked.  For years I would order online through retailers like ethnicgrocer.com.  Eventually, I found it in our local grocery stores in areas with more highly concentrated Asian populations.  Finally, it’s in just about every grocery store I go to today.  Can’t wait to read the article.  However, I was so excited I had to snap a shot and put it out here first.  Now back to reading.
